The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Design and Technology Teacher to join a successful and well-resourced department. This role offers the chance to inspire students and contribute to a school that consistently delivers outstanding results and fosters a culture of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Design and Technology lessons that engage students of all abilities.
  • Develop and implement a dynamic and challenging curriculum, including GCSE Food & Nutrition, BTEC Construction and the Built Environment, and BTEC Hospitality & Catering.
  • Support the school’s Catholic ethos and promote the spiritual, moral, and cultural development of students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective departmental approach.
  • Provide pastoral care and support to students in line with the school’s values.
  • Participate in the wider life of the school, including extra-curricular and community activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and assess student progress effectively.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the subject and continue professional development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Design and Technology.
  • Relevant teaching qualification (e.g., QTS).
  • Experience of teaching a range of Design and Technology qualifications.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to the Catholic ethos of the school.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching GCSE Food & Nutrition or BTEC qualifications.
  • Experience of working in a Catholic school or with a strong faith-based ethos.
  • Experience of leading or contributing to departmental initiatives.
  • Experience of pastoral care and student support.
