Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Mathematics across the full ability range from Year 7 to Year 13.
  • Deliver lessons using a Socratic teaching style that encourages student-led discovery and problem-solving.
  • Support students in preparing for Further Mathematics, STEP, and Oxbridge entrance exams.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in partnership teaching initiatives with local schools.
  • Participate in departmental programs such as Maths Circles, Enrichment days, and university preparation courses.
  • Contribute to the continued professional development of the department and support colleagues in obtaining Qualified Teaching Status.
  • Promote a culture of academic excellence and ensure high standards of achievement in Mathematics at all levels.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong academic background in Mathematics, with excellent A Level (or equivalent) grades.
  • A degree or career path with a significant focus on Mathematics.
  • Commitment to teaching and the ability to inspire and engage students.
  • Willingness to work across the full ability range and contribute to a collaborative department.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Further Mathematics, STEP, or Oxbridge preparation.
  • Previous experience in education or training, particularly in Mathematics.
  • Ability to lead and mentor other teachers within the department.
  • Experience in developing and delivering enrichment programs or extracurricular Mathematics activities.
