Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Mathematics across the full ability range from Year 7 to Year 13.
- Deliver lessons using a Socratic teaching style that encourages student-led discovery and problem-solving.
- Support students in preparing for Further Mathematics, STEP, and Oxbridge entrance exams.
- Collaborate with colleagues in partnership teaching initiatives with local schools.
- Participate in departmental programs such as Maths Circles, Enrichment days, and university preparation courses.
- Contribute to the continued professional development of the department and support colleagues in obtaining Qualified Teaching Status.
- Promote a culture of academic excellence and ensure high standards of achievement in Mathematics at all levels.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong academic background in Mathematics, with excellent A Level (or equivalent) grades.
- A degree or career path with a significant focus on Mathematics.
- Commitment to teaching and the ability to inspire and engage students.
- Willingness to work across the full ability range and contribute to a collaborative department.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching Further Mathematics, STEP, or Oxbridge preparation.
- Previous experience in education or training, particularly in Mathematics.
- Ability to lead and mentor other teachers within the department.
- Experience in developing and delivering enrichment programs or extracurricular Mathematics activities.
