The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Maths Teacher to join a dynamic and growing department. This role offers the chance to shape the future of students through the delivery of A-level Mathematics and related curricula. The successful candidate will contribute to a supportive and innovative learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality A-level Mathematics and related courses, including Further Maths and GCSE retakes.
  • Support students in achieving their academic potential through effective teaching and individualised guidance.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental strategies and curriculum planning.
  • Participate in the personal tutoring system, providing pastoral care and academic support to 25 students.
  • Engage with the school's enrichment programme by offering relevant activities or initiatives.
  • Stay up to date with industry developments and incorporate innovative teaching methods and technology.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Science Faculty to enhance the learning experience.
  • Attend and contribute to in-house and external professional development opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good degree in a relevant subject and a teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DET).
  • Current or recent experience of teaching A-level Maths.
  • Strong understanding of Level 3 Mathematics and the ability to use IT to support teaching and learning.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching Further Maths or a second subject within the department.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Experience in personal tutoring and pastoral care.
