The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Maths Teacher to join a dynamic and growing department. This role offers the chance to shape the future of students through the delivery of A-level Mathematics and related curricula. The successful candidate will contribute to a supportive and innovative learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality A-level Mathematics and related courses, including Further Maths and GCSE retakes.
- Support students in achieving their academic potential through effective teaching and individualised guidance.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental strategies and curriculum planning.
- Participate in the personal tutoring system, providing pastoral care and academic support to 25 students.
- Engage with the school's enrichment programme by offering relevant activities or initiatives.
- Stay up to date with industry developments and incorporate innovative teaching methods and technology.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Science Faculty to enhance the learning experience.
- Attend and contribute to in-house and external professional development opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A good degree in a relevant subject and a teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DET).
- Current or recent experience of teaching A-level Maths.
- Strong understanding of Level 3 Mathematics and the ability to use IT to support teaching and learning.
Preferred
- Experience teaching Further Maths or a second subject within the department.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Experience in personal tutoring and pastoral care.
