The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and qualified Politics Teacher to join a dynamic team and inspire students in A-level Politics. This role offers the chance to contribute to a thriving department and support the academic growth of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach A-level Politics to multiple groups and mixed abilities.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that engage and challenge students.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Politics curriculum.
  • Support students through personal tutoring, monitoring progress and offering guidance.
  • Participate in the enrichment programme and contribute to extracurricular activities.
  • Attend and contribute to in-house and external professional development opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the school to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Maintain accurate records and assessments of student performance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good degree in a relevant subject.
  • A teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DET).
  • Current or recent experience of teaching A-level Politics.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching History A-level in addition to Politics.
  • Knowledge of the Edexcel Politics specification, including the US Politics and feminism route.
  • Willingness to upskill in Politics A-level content.
  • Experience with enrichment activities and student support.
