The Opportunity:
As a Maths Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the academic and personal development of students in Years 7–11 with SEMH needs. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and challenging lessons in Mathematics, ensuring all students make strong progress.
- Foster problem-solving and critical thinking skills, adapting teaching to meet diverse learning needs.
- Use a range of assessment strategies to monitor and support student progress effectively.
- Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities within the Maths department.
- Support the development of a tailored, flexible curriculum shaped around the individual needs of students.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the school and within the SEMH ARP.
- Build strong, positive relationships with students and promote a supportive learning environment.
- Ensure a focus on pupil progress and achievement, aligned with the school’s values of inclusivity and excellence.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Mathematics education.
- Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics, with the ability to teach across key stages.
- Proven ability to deliver inclusive and engaging lessons that support student progress.
- Experience working with students with SEMH needs or complex learning needs.
- Commitment to social justice, equity, and inclusion in education.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development or enrichment program delivery.
- Experience working within an Additional Resource Provision (ARP) or similar setting.
- Experience with assessment and differentiation strategies.
- Passion for professional development and innovation in teaching practice.
