As a Maths Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the academic and personal development of students in Years 7–11 with SEMH needs. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging lessons in Mathematics, ensuring all students make strong progress.
  • Foster problem-solving and critical thinking skills, adapting teaching to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Use a range of assessment strategies to monitor and support student progress effectively.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities within the Maths department.
  • Support the development of a tailored, flexible curriculum shaped around the individual needs of students.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the school and within the SEMH ARP.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students and promote a supportive learning environment.
  • Ensure a focus on pupil progress and achievement, aligned with the school’s values of inclusivity and excellence.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Mathematics education.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics, with the ability to teach across key stages.
  • Proven ability to deliver inclusive and engaging lessons that support student progress.
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs or complex learning needs.
  • Commitment to social justice, equity, and inclusion in education.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development or enrichment program delivery.
  • Experience working within an Additional Resource Provision (ARP) or similar setting.
  • Experience with assessment and differentiation strategies.
  • Passion for professional development and innovation in teaching practice.
