Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and stimulating mathematics lessons across all ability levels and age ranges.
  • Provide academic tutoring to a small group of students, supporting their learning and development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative teaching methods and share best practices.
  • Stay up to date with current educational trends and incorporate new approaches into teaching.
  • Encourage a love of mathematics and support students in achieving their full potential.
  • Contribute to the development of the Mathematics Department through active participation in meetings and events.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A strong degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
  • A teaching qualification such as a PGCE, or the ability and willingness to work towards one.
  • Experience in teaching mathematics at a relevant level, or the potential to demonstrate strong classroom practice.
  • The ability to teach across a range of ability levels and age groups.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching Further Maths and/or the International Baccalaureate (IB).
  • Previous experience in a school setting, particularly within an independent or boarding school.
  • A passion for mathematics and a commitment to inspiring the next generation of mathematicians.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
