The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Music Teacher to join our Performing Arts team and contribute to the development of a dynamic and inclusive learning environment. This role offers the opportunity to shape the musical education of students across the Primary and Middle Schools, while supporting a wide range of co-curricular and performing arts activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging music lessons and units of work in Primary and Middle Schools.
- Lead and support the school’s choir programme and CCA, ensuring they meet the needs and interests of students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share resources and best practices in music education.
- Coordinate and contribute to music events and activities across the school.
- Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and all College policies are upheld in practice.
- Create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment that supports individual student needs.
- Assess student learning and use assessments to inform planning and teaching.
- Develop strong relationships with parents and the wider community through effective communication.
- Support student personal, social, and emotional development.
- Participate in co-curricular activities and school events, including parent meetings and admissions events.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- University degree in Music with a recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, BEd, MEd).
- Minimum of 2 years’ classroom teaching experience.
- Strong commitment to student engagement and inclusive teaching practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Willingness to develop knowledge of PYP, MYP, and CNC curricula.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to use ICT effectively in teaching and learning.
Preferred
- Excellent vocal or keyboard skills.
- Experience in international schools.
- Experience with teaching through inquiry-based learning.
- Experience in working with English Language Learners.
- Involvement in co-curricular and performing arts programs.
