The Opportunity:

As the Head of PE Department, you will lead and inspire a team of passionate educators to deliver high-quality physical education and extracurricular sporting opportunities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the PE department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, engaging lessons aligned with curriculum standards.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive PE and sports program that promotes student participation and achievement.
  • Support the professional development of PE staff through coaching, mentoring, and training.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate PE with broader school initiatives and student well-being.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support to improve performance.
  • Organize and oversee extracurricular sports activities and events.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies and safeguarding procedures.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align departmental goals with the school’s strategic vision.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a PE department or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of PE curriculum and best practices in physical education.
  • Experience in managing and developing teaching staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s values of hard work, integrity, and kindness.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and delivering extracurricular sports programs.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies in PE.
  • Experience with school-wide initiatives focused on student well-being and character development.
  • Background in coaching or sports management.
