Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality EAL instruction aligned with the IB MYP/DP framework.
- Support students in developing language skills that enhance their academic performance and personal growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create engaging, inclusive, and challenging learning experiences.
- Monitor and assess student progress using data-driven strategies to inform instruction.
- Participate in departmental and school-wide professional development initiatives.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that reflects the IB Learner Profile.
- Work closely with students, parents, and other teachers to support student success.
- Contribute to curriculum development and the continuous improvement of EAL teaching practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A Bachelor of Education degree or equivalent with a teaching qualification such as a PGCE, PGDE, or specialism in EAL.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching Secondary EAL.
- Strong understanding of the IB MYP/DP framework and Approaches to Teaching.
- Commitment to the IB Learner Profile and its values.
- Availability to start in August 2026.
Preferred
- Experience teaching within an IB curriculum school.
- Advanced qualifications in EAL or related fields.
- Experience with data-driven instruction and curriculum development.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated success in improving student outcomes in EAL.
