Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality EAL instruction aligned with the IB MYP/DP framework.
  • Support students in developing language skills that enhance their academic performance and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create engaging, inclusive, and challenging learning experiences.
  • Monitor and assess student progress using data-driven strategies to inform instruction.
  • Participate in departmental and school-wide professional development initiatives.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that reflects the IB Learner Profile.
  • Work closely with students, parents, and other teachers to support student success.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and the continuous improvement of EAL teaching practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A Bachelor of Education degree or equivalent with a teaching qualification such as a PGCE, PGDE, or specialism in EAL.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching Secondary EAL.
  • Strong understanding of the IB MYP/DP framework and Approaches to Teaching.
  • Commitment to the IB Learner Profile and its values.
  • Availability to start in August 2026.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching within an IB curriculum school.
  • Advanced qualifications in EAL or related fields.
  • Experience with data-driven instruction and curriculum development.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated success in improving student outcomes in EAL.
