The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced MYP Integrated Science; DP Biology teacher to join our dynamic team. This role involves teaching Grade 9 and 10 MYP Integrated Science, with the potential to contribute to DP Biology. The ideal candidate is a versatile science educator who is passionate about inquiry-based learning, student engagement, and innovative teaching practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Grade 9 and 10 MYP Integrated Science, covering Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Earth & Space sciences.
  • Collaborate with experienced science colleagues to develop and deliver a high-quality, inquiry-based curriculum.
  • Encourage scientific inquiry, problem-solving, and the use of technology to enhance student learning.
  • Create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that promotes student independence and confidence.
  • Implement a range of teaching strategies to engage students and meet diverse learning needs.
  • Use formative and summative assessments to inform instruction and support student progress.
  • Contribute to the school’s extra-curricular and pastoral care programs.
  • Maintain accurate records of student learning and communicate regularly with parents.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a secondary school setting.
  • Qualified to teach MYP Integrated Science and DP Biology.
  • Strong knowledge of the IB curriculum and assessment practices.
  • Experience in student-centered, inquiry-based teaching methods.
  • Ability to create and deliver engaging, relevant lessons that promote critical thinking and problem-solving.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching DP, A-level, or AP Biology.
  • Familiarity with the use of technology in science education.
  • Demonstrated ability to support student wellbeing and pastoral care.
  • Experience with differentiated instruction and inclusive classroom practices.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
