The Opportunity:

The Aquatics Director will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of aquatics programs and facilities. This role is central to delivering a safe, inclusive, and high-quality aquatics experience that supports student wellbeing and development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement inclusive aquatics programs that promote student wellbeing, confidence, and lifelong swimming skills.
• Deliver curriculum-linked swimming instruction for students from Kindergarten to Grade 10.
• Lead and coach aquatics pathways including Learn-to-Swim, competitive teams, and additional programs such as artistic swimming and water polo.
• Ensure consistent assessment, goal-setting, and feedback practices across all aquatics programs.
• Recruit, train, and manage aquatics staff, including coaches, lifeguards, and pool technicians.
• Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operation of aquatics facilities and equipment.
• Collaborate on safety protocols and manage pool maintenance and scheduling.
• Utilize aquatics-related technologies to support performance monitoring and operational efficiency.
• Develop and implement annual aquatics action plans with clear goals and review cycles.
• Use data to monitor program quality, student participation, and performance.
• Engage students and parents through communication, feedback, and community events.
• Build partnerships to enhance opportunities for students and support program growth.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Minimum of 7–10 years of progressively responsible experience in aquatics leadership.
• Professional aquatics coaching qualifications.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Current Lifeguard certification.
• Certified Pool Operator qualification (or ability to obtain within six months of appointment).
• Demonstrated experience in pool operations, maintenance, and safety management.

Preferred

• Experience working in an international school and/or IB environment.
• Experience leading competitive and developmental swim programs.
