The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Spanish B Teacher with Home Language Programme Coordination responsibilities to join our dynamic team. This role involves teaching Spanish B and supporting the coordination of the Home Language Programme, ensuring alignment with IB standards and student progress. The ideal candidate is a reflective, student-centered teacher who values multilingualism and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Spanish B to students in the MYP, following IB curriculum guidelines.
- Coordinate the Home Language Programme, working closely with external tutors to ensure quality and consistency.
- Support student progress through regular communication with tutors, parents, and colleagues.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote language acquisition and 21st-century skills.
- Facilitate a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages inquiry, collaboration, and critical thinking.
- Maintain accurate records of student learning and progress through Managebac.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and subject knowledge.
- Contribute to the school’s Extra-Curricular Activities Programme and support students beyond the classroom.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Spanish or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching Spanish B in an IB setting.
- Strong understanding of IB language pathways and assessment practices.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to multilingualism and student-centered learning.
Preferred
- Experience in coordinating a Home Language Programme.
- Familiarity with Managebac or similar learning management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with external tutors and colleagues.
- Experience in pastoral care and student support initiatives.
