The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Spanish B Teacher with Home Language Programme Coordination responsibilities to join our dynamic team. This role involves teaching Spanish B and supporting the coordination of the Home Language Programme, ensuring alignment with IB standards and student progress. The ideal candidate is a reflective, student-centered teacher who values multilingualism and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Spanish B to students in the MYP, following IB curriculum guidelines.
  • Coordinate the Home Language Programme, working closely with external tutors to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Support student progress through regular communication with tutors, parents, and colleagues.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote language acquisition and 21st-century skills.
  • Facilitate a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages inquiry, collaboration, and critical thinking.
  • Maintain accurate records of student learning and progress through Managebac.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and subject knowledge.
  • Contribute to the school’s Extra-Curricular Activities Programme and support students beyond the classroom.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Spanish or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching Spanish B in an IB setting.
  • Strong understanding of IB language pathways and assessment practices.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to multilingualism and student-centered learning.

Preferred

  • Experience in coordinating a Home Language Programme.
  • Familiarity with Managebac or similar learning management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with external tutors and colleagues.
  • Experience in pastoral care and student support initiatives.
