The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Part-Time Art & Photography Teacher to cover maternity leave within the Arts department. This is a temporary role that offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students’ creative development and contribute to a vibrant learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective Art & Photography lessons at Key Stage 4 level
  • Support students in developing their artistic and photographic skills
  • Plan and prepare stimulating lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Maintain high standards of teaching and classroom management
  • Utilize technology and resources effectively to enhance student learning
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and inclusive department
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and teaching staff

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in Art & Photography at secondary level
  • Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 4 curriculum for Art and Photography
  • Ability to plan, prepare, and deliver lessons that meet diverse student needs
  • Excellent classroom management and student motivation skills
  • Proficient in using technology and resources related to photography education
  • Strong communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching within a co-educational setting
  • Background in supporting students with additional learning needs
  • Experience with assessment and tracking student progress
  • Familiarity with mentoring or pastoral support systems
