The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Geography Teacher to join our department and inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4. This role offers the chance to deliver impactful lessons, support student success, and contribute to a culture of high-quality teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and knowledge-rich Geography lessons using the Explicit Direction Instruction model.
- Support students in achieving strong outcomes at GCSE level through effective teaching and assessment strategies.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of a rigorous and inclusive curriculum.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and improve teaching and learning across the department.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as part of a caring and supportive school environment.
- Engage in professional development and continue to grow as an educator.
- Monitor and assess student progress to ensure continuous improvement and achievement.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives and contribute to the school’s mission and values.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and appropriate teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching Geography at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality instruction and improving student achievement.
- Strong understanding of curriculum design and assessment practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience with the Explicit Direction Instruction model of teaching.
- Experience in developing and implementing innovative teaching strategies.
- Experience in supporting student wellbeing and pastoral care.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL) or similar.
