The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and inspirational Part-Time Chemistry Teacher to join our Science department. This role offers the opportunity to teach A Level Chemistry, BTEC Applied Science, and potentially T Level in Science. The successful candidate will be an active and innovative educator, committed to inspiring learners and delivering outstanding teaching and learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach A Level Chemistry and BTEC Applied Science to a range of students.
  • Deliver engaging and innovative lessons that promote active learning and student engagement.
  • Support students in achieving their academic goals and preparing for higher education and future careers.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share teaching resources and strategies.
  • Participate in the school’s digital innovation strategy to enhance student learning through technology.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of the Science department and its curriculum.
  • Engage in staff development and training opportunities to enhance teaching practice.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Chemistry and Applied Science.
  • Experience teaching A Level Chemistry and BTEC Applied Science.
  • Strong classroom management and teaching skills.
  • Commitment to student success and motivation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and contribute to departmental goals.

Preferred

  • Experience with T Level in Science.
  • Familiarity with digital teaching tools and strategies.
  • Experience with safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
  • Previous experience in a sixth form or post-16 education setting.
