The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Peripatetic Brass Teacher to join our Music Department. In this role, you will teach primarily trombone in a one-to-one setting, while also supporting the school’s musical life through concerts and ensemble rehearsals. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a thriving music program and work with a dedicated team of peripatetic staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach trombone and other lower brass instruments to students of varying abilities and experience levels.
  • Prepare students for music examinations and assessments.
  • Support the school at concerts and ensemble rehearsals as required.
  • Collaborate with the Music Department to enhance the quality of music education.
  • Maintain a consistent and effective teaching schedule across the academic year.
  • Engage with students and parents to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Work closely with the department administrator to manage timetables and payment processes.
  • Contribute to the wider musical life of the school through additional events and activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A Music degree or diploma, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience teaching students of all levels, from beginners to advanced.
  • Strong knowledge of lower brass technique and pedagogy.
  • Ability to prepare students for music examinations and assessments.
  • Commitment to working as part of a collaborative and enthusiastic team.

Preferred

  • Experience with a range of musical backgrounds and teaching styles.
