The Opportunity:

A Part-Time French and Spanish Teacher is needed to lead and inspire young learners across the school. This role offers the chance to shape a progressive and culturally rich language programme that supports pupils from Nursery through to Year 6. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to bring languages to life through immersive and engaging teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a progressive and coherent French and Spanish curriculum tailored to different age groups.
  • Introduce young learners to French and Spanish through songs, games, and stories, fostering enthusiasm and language skills.
  • Plan and implement assessments and progression strategies to support student learning and development.
  • Promote cultural awareness and understanding by incorporating traditions and customs from French- and Spanish-speaking countries.
  • Collaborate with other teachers to contribute to whole-school events and enrichment activities.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment that supports all students.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and provide regular feedback on student progress.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong subject knowledge in both French and Spanish.
  • Experience teaching languages to children across the early years and primary age range.
  • Confidence in working independently and managing a full language curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in curriculum planning and assessment.
  • A genuine passion for inspiring a love of languages in young learners.
  • Experience with immersive and culturally informed teaching methods.
