The Opportunity:

As a Part-Time Music Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the musical education of students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. This is an opportunity to contribute to curriculum development, support student growth, and bring creativity and passion to the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality music lessons that inspire and engage students of all abilities.
  • Support the development and implementation of a progressive and innovative music curriculum.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.
  • Manage classroom resources and maintain a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment.
  • Participate in extracurricular music activities, including choirs, orchestras, and performances.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through professional development and staff collaboration.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and wellbeing policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification (e.g., QTS).
  • Experience in teaching music at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Strong knowledge of music theory, performance, and composition.
  • Ability to create and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development or leadership within a music department.
  • Experience with Performing Arts or extracurricular music programs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work across different key stages and support school initiatives.
