The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Sports Coach to join our dynamic PE department and contribute to the delivery of a broad and balanced sporting curriculum for junior students. This role presents an excellent opportunity to work within a well-resourced department and develop your coaching career in an institution with exceptional sporting facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality sports lessons and coaching sessions to junior students.
  • Develop and implement a range of sporting activities that promote physical development and teamwork.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the PE department to ensure a cohesive and engaging sporting programme.
  • Support the school’s commitment to providing a broad and balanced curriculum through sports.
  • Encourage and foster a passion for sport among students of all abilities.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of students during all sporting activities.
  • Maintain and update sports equipment and facilities as required.
  • Participate in staff development and training opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience of working with children, particularly in a primary school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to delivering a high standard of teaching and coaching.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative when needed.
  • Flexibility to work term-time only, including Saturday mornings.

Preferred

  • Experience in sports coaching or playing at a competitive level.
  • Familiarity with a variety of sports and activities suitable for junior students.
  • Experience with curriculum planning and delivery.
  • Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
