The Opportunity:

As the Pastoral Lead and Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring the wellbeing and safety of students. This is a vital position that supports the school's mission to create a nurturing environment where students can thrive and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and improve individual and site practice around behaviour and safeguarding.
  • Coordinate the effective implementation of the Attendance Policy.
  • Provide rapid response to staff when a child is in need of additional support.
  • Monitor and report on students out of class.
  • Be physically present on the school site during the school day, especially during breaks and lunchtime.
  • Proactively liaise with parents and carers.
  • Deliver relevant behaviour and safeguarding training to staff through CPD.
  • Support students who are struggling to engage with classes and staff in cooperation with the clinical team.
  • Provide data for SLT and Governors.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE English & Maths (Grade 4/C or above)
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection
  • Experience of managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours
  • Knowledge and experience of working with children with SEMH/ASD

Preferred

  • L3 in working with children and young people
  • Qualifications in behavioural approaches or psychology
  • Experience with educational visits (EVCs)
