The Opportunity:

As a Pastoral Leader, you will play a vital role in supporting student wellbeing and academic success. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and lead a team of pastoral staff to ensure the emotional and academic wellbeing of students.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote positive behaviour, attendance, and engagement.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, identifying and addressing barriers to learning.
  • Provide guidance and support to students, parents, and carers through regular communication and pastoral care.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and support services to ensure students receive appropriate help and intervention.
  • Promote the school’s values of respect, integrity, and determination across the student body.
  • Contribute to the development of school policies and initiatives that enhance student outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a pastoral or student support role within an educational setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
  • Experience in developing and implementing pastoral care strategies.
  • Commitment to the school’s mission of ensuring student success and wellbeing.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school with a strong focus on inclusion and diversity.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Experience with behaviour management and restorative practices.
  • Familiarity with flexible working policies and innovative approaches to education.
