The Opportunity:

As a Pastoral Manager Key Stage, you will provide strategic oversight and support to ensure the well-being and success of students across the year groups. This role is pivotal in maintaining a supportive and inclusive school culture, working closely with Heads of Learning to deliver high-quality pastoral care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the pastoral welfare of students across key stages, ensuring their emotional, social, and academic needs are met.
  • Support Heads of Learning in the smooth running of year groups and the school.
  • Develop and implement effective pastoral strategies and interventions to support student well-being.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of pastoral programs to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with staff, parents, and external agencies to provide holistic support for students.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and support to students, staff, and parents on pastoral matters.
  • Contribute to the development of school-wide policies and initiatives related to student welfare.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a pastoral or student support role within an educational setting.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • In-depth knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Experience in developing and delivering pastoral care strategies and interventions.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusion, equality, and student well-being.

Preferred

  • Experience in a senior pastoral or student welfare role.
  • Knowledge of key stage-specific pastoral care requirements.
  • Experience with student behavior management and support programs.
  • Understanding of current educational policies and best practices in pastoral care.
