Learning Support Assistant KS1/KS2 | Support pupils with SEMH and SEND in a nurturing environment.

The Opportunity:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will support pupils with SEMH and SEND needs in a small, nurturing school. You will work closely with teachers to deliver engaging and differentiated lessons, helping students reach their full potential in a calm and structured setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils academically and emotionally in a highly supportive environment
- Assist in delivering differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
- Work collaboratively with teachers and therapists to ensure a consistent and nurturing approach
- Use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour effectively
- Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment for all pupils
- Assist with administrative tasks and record-keeping as required
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance practice
- Support pupils in developing social, emotional, and academic skills
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH and/or SEND
- Ability to work confidently with challenging behaviour using de-escalation techniques
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Experience in a school, PRU, or alternative provision setting
Preferred
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning (or similar)
