The Opportunity:
As a Payroll Officer, you will play a key role in managing the payroll, pensions, and benefits functions of the school. This is a vital position that ensures accurate and timely payroll processing, while supporting the HR and Finance teams in maintaining a smooth and compliant operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and process payroll, pensions, and benefits for staff across the school.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant employment and tax legislation.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all payroll-related queries and support.
- Collaborate closely with the HR and Finance teams to maintain accurate records and reports.
- Monitor and maintain payroll systems and processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Prepare and review payroll statements, reports, and documentation.
- Support the implementation of new payroll systems or processes as required.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in payroll legislation and best practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a payroll role, preferably within the education sector.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Knowledge of payroll software and systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience with pension schemes and benefits administration.
- Familiarity with the UK payroll and tax regulations.
- Experience working in a school or educational institution.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including three days per week.
