The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Physical Education lessons that promote physical wellbeing, teamwork, and leadership.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in Sports, Exercise and Health Science.
  • Support students in developing confidence and achieving success across a range of sports and activities.
  • Participate in and lead extra-curricular sports activities, including fixtures, clubs, and inter-house competitions.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and student experience in Physical Education.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment for all students.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities and contribute to the school’s wider educational goals.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification (QTS).
  • Proven experience in teaching Physical Education at the secondary level.
  • Strong knowledge of sports and physical activity, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles and student wellbeing.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum design or development.
  • Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
  • Experience in leading or managing extra-curricular sports activities.
  • Previous experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational environment.
  • Ability to support trainee teachers and contribute to professional development.
