The Opportunity:

As a Performing Arts Technician, you will play a key role in supporting teaching staff within the PEXA department. This is a part-time, permanent position that offers the chance to contribute to a vibrant and creative learning environment where students are encouraged to express themselves and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teaching staff in the delivery of Performing Arts and Expressive Arts activities.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of resources and equipment for creative lessons.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive environment that encourages student engagement and self-esteem.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the quality of student learning and experiences.
  • Encourage and support students in developing their skills and confidence in the arts.
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of all equipment and facilities within the Performing Arts department.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of extra-curricular activities related to the arts.
  • Maintain a high standard of behaviour and expectations for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE or equivalent qualification in English and Maths.
  • Experience in a school or educational setting, preferably within the Performing Arts.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and independently.
  • Commitment to the welfare and development of students.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of creative arts and performance techniques.
  • Experience in supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Experience with curriculum development or resource creation.
  • Familiarity with health and safety procedures in a school environment.
