The Opportunity:
A peripatetic guitar teacher is needed to support a growing music department and contribute to a dynamic co-curricular programme. This role offers the chance to inspire students and play a key part in the school's music culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality peripatetic guitar lessons to students across Years 7–13.
- Support students in preparing for graded exams and diplomas across all exam boards.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of a wide range of co-curricular music activities.
- Collaborate with other music staff to enhance the school’s music provision and performance opportunities.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students pursuing music at GCSE, A-Level, and beyond.
- Assist in the organisation and delivery of school events such as concerts, musical theatre productions, and festivals.
- Maintain a flexible working pattern to meet the needs of the department and students.
- Promote a culture of musical excellence and inclusivity within the school.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified music teacher with experience in guitar instruction.
- Proven ability to teach students of varying abilities and ages.
- Strong knowledge of guitar techniques and music theory.
- Experience in preparing students for graded exams and diplomas.
- Commitment to the school’s mission and values, including inclusivity and student welfare.
Preferred
- Experience in leading or contributing to co-curricular music ensembles or performance groups.
- Additional instrument expertise, such as piano or another string instrument.
- Experience in teaching within a school or educational setting.
- Familiarity with music technology and digital teaching tools.
