The Opportunity:
As a Personal Development Tutor, you will support learners in developing essential life skills, preparing them for successful transitions into higher education, employment, or further training. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate weekly personal development tutorials for groups of learners
- Provide cover for tutorial sessions to ensure consistent support for learners
- Offer information, advice, and guidance to help learners progress into employment or further education
- Work closely with the Pastoral and Safeguarding team to address any welfare or safeguarding concerns
- Support learners in exploring career pathways and developing employability skills
- Promote college enrichment activities, clubs, and societies
- Coordinate the completion of Individual Learner Plans and set personal development targets
- Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that values diversity and promotes equality
- Contribute to the development of cross-college tutorial resources and the use of the college VLE
- Encourage learner participation and support the election of learner representatives
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Level 2 (GCSE A*-C) in English and Maths
- Level 4 Teaching Qualification or willingness to work towards it
- Previous vocational experience
Preferred
- Level 4 or higher education
- IAG Level 2 qualification or experience
- Mentoring or coaching qualification or experience
- Clean driving license and business insurance
