The Opportunity:
As a Maths Programme Leader, you will lead and develop Maths provision, inspire learners, and contribute to the school’s mission of being "The Best Place to Learn and Work."
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of Maths tutors to deliver high-quality teaching and learning.
- Oversee curriculum planning, quality assurance, assessment, and student achievement.
- Monitor and improve recruitment, retention, and progression of learners in Maths programmes.
- Develop innovative approaches to Maths teaching in Further Education, embedding best practices.
- Teach on Maths programmes as part of an agreed timetable, inspiring learners to achieve their full potential.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align teaching with the school’s strategic goals and values.
- Support continuous improvement and professional development across the Maths department.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Degree in a relevant subject and a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent).
- Proven experience of leading Maths curriculum delivery in Further Education or secondary education.
- Strong track record of improving student outcomes in Maths.
- Effective people management skills, with the ability to support and develop a high-performing team.
- Knowledge of current Further Education sector priorities and funding linked to Maths.
Preferred
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
- Familiarity with digital learning platforms and tools.
- Experience in developing and implementing innovative teaching strategies.
- Leadership experience in a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
