The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a passionate and inspiring Physical Education Teacher to join its team and help shape the next generation of athletes and leaders. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality PE lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
- Foster a culture of high expectations and encourage pupils to achieve their potential.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan curriculum and schemes of work.
- Support pupils academically and physically, including preparation for assessments.
- Set challenging learning and developmental goals using varied strategies, resources, and technologies.
- Provide regular feedback and encourage pupils to act on it.
- Undertake pastoral and supervisory duties as required.
- Attend assemblies, departmental meetings, parents’ evenings, and school events.
- Lead or participate in extra-curricular activities, sports teams, and school events.
- Develop high-quality, creative, and inclusive PE activities.
- Assist in sourcing and managing teaching resources.
- Ensure continuity and progression across year groups.
- Analyse pupil performance data and act to ensure outstanding progress.
- Regularly review own practice and engage in continuous professional development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Excellent knowledge of the UK National Curriculum or equivalent.
- Strong subject knowledge in Physical Education.
- Minimum of two years’ relevant teaching experience.
- Good degree from a recognised university.
- PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to inspire pupils and foster a love of sport and learning.
- Willingness to contribute to all aspects of school life.
Preferred
- Experience teaching pupils with English as an Additional Language (EAL).
- Experience working in the independent school sector.
- Emerging leadership qualities and potential for future leadership roles.
