The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Physical Education Teacher (Rugby Specialist) to join our team and lead a dynamic PE programme that fosters a love of sport and fitness. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students and may include leadership opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality PE lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and deliver curriculum and schemes of work.
- Support pupils academically and physically, including preparation for assessments where applicable.
- Lead or participate in extra-curricular activities, sports teams, and school events.
- Analyse pupil performance data and act to ensure outstanding progress.
- Undertake pastoral and supervisory duties as required, including attendance at assemblies and school events.
- Develop high-quality, creative, and inclusive PE activities that align with the school's curriculum.
- Contribute to the school’s ethos and reputation as a positive role model.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Excellent knowledge of the UK National Curriculum or equivalent.
- Strong subject knowledge in Physical Education.
- Minimum of two years’ relevant teaching experience.
- Good degree from a recognised university.
- PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to inspire pupils and foster a love of sport and learning.
- Willingness to contribute to all aspects of school life.
Preferred
- Experience teaching pupils with English as an Additional Language (EAL).
- Experience working in the independent school sector.
- Emerging leadership qualities and potential for future leadership roles.
