Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Physics to students across all key stages, ensuring high academic standards and engaging learning experiences.
  • Deliver lessons using a range of teaching and learning strategies that cater to diverse learning needs.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the BTEC Applied Science curriculum where applicable.
  • Support the pastoral life of the school and participate in extra-curricular activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the quality of teaching and learning.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support continued development.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the subject and incorporate new ideas into teaching practice.
  • Maintain accurate records and report student progress to parents and guardians.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Physics.
  • Experience teaching Physics from Year 7 to A level.
  • Strong understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies.
  • Commitment to student welfare and pastoral support.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to the school's extra-curricular programme.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering BTEC Applied Science qualifications.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching technologies and resources.
  • Experience in a co-educational setting.
  • Leadership experience or willingness to take on a leading role in the department.
