The Opportunity:

A Religious Education Teacher is needed to contribute to the spiritual and intellectual life of a school with a deep Catholic foundation. This role offers the chance to shape young minds through engaging and thought-provoking Religious Education, while being part of a vibrant and supportive community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Religious Education lessons that reflect the teachings of the Catholic Church and promote critical thinking
  • Contribute to the liturgical life of the school, including retreats and other faith-based activities
  • Support the development of students’ moral and spiritual growth through meaningful dialogue and engagement
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a strong Catholic ethos across the school
  • Promote a culture of academic excellence and intellectual curiosity within the RE department
  • Participate in the wider mission and pastoral care of the school
  • Engage in professional development and contribute to the continuous improvement of the curriculum
  • Uphold the school’s values and maintain high standards of behaviour and learning

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Religious Education or Theology
  • Strong commitment to the Catholic ethos and values of the school
  • Excellent classroom management and teaching skills
  • Ability to engage students in meaningful discussion and critical thinking
  • Experience in delivering a curriculum rooted in Catholic teachings

Preferred

  • Experience in working within a Catholic school environment
  • Familiarity with liturgical practices and sacramental ministry
  • Background in pastoral care or youth ministry
  • Experience in leading or contributing to co-curricular or faith-based activities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
