Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Physics lessons to students from Year 7 through to A Level.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that promote student engagement and academic success.
  • Support the school’s mission by contributing to extracurricular activities and initiatives within the wider Sherborne Schools Group.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Science curriculum and share best practices.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning and development.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to maintain and enhance teaching expertise.
  • Contribute to the pastoral care and overall well-being of students.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and attendance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a degree in Physics or a related subject.
  • Relevant teaching experience, ideally within an independent or selective school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach across the full age range.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to extracurricular Science activities.
  • Familiarity with the Sherborne Schools Group and its educational philosophy.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
