The Opportunity:

As a Plumbing Teacher Assessor, you will play a vital role in ensuring apprentices meet industry standards through assessment, feedback, and support. This position offers the chance to contribute to the success of learners and employers, while working in a high-performing institution with a strong focus on professional development and inclusivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess apprentices’ knowledge, skills, and behaviours through observation, questioning, and portfolio reviews.
  • Provide constructive feedback and tailored support to help apprentices achieve their goals.
  • Act as the key liaison between apprentices, employers, and external organisations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations throughout the apprenticeship process.
  • Foster strong partnerships with employers to support apprentices’ progress and success.
  • Monitor and evaluate apprentices’ progress to ensure they meet required standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to assessments and feedback.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of apprenticeship training programs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant teaching and/or assessor qualification.
  • Proven experience in apprenticeship training and assessment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with apprentices, employers, and external organisations.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of learners.

Preferred

  • Experience in the plumbing industry or related field.
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship frameworks and standards.
  • Experience with assessment and quality assurance processes.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific tools and equipment.
