Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons that engage and challenge students at all levels.
  • Work collaboratively with the Head of Department to develop and implement curriculum improvements.

  • Provide pastoral care and guidance to students, ensuring their academic and personal development.
  • Participate in staff development and training to enhance teaching practice and outcomes.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities in Science.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Science.
  • Proven experience in teaching Science at the appropriate level.
  • Up-to-date with current curriculum developments and teaching methodologies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental improvement initiatives.
  • Involvement in extracurricular Science activities or enrichment programmes.
  • Familiarity with inclusive teaching practices and support for students with special educational needs.
  • Experience with assessment and data analysis to inform teaching strategies.
