The Opportunity:
A Primary Music Teacher is needed to cover maternity leave and deliver high-quality music education across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2. This role is ideal for an enthusiastic and skilled teacher who wants to inspire young musicians and contribute to a dynamic school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging music lessons aligned to the English National Curriculum for EYFS to Year 6.
- Support year group productions and direct small ensembles for performances.
- Plan and deliver units that develop listening, singing, notation, composition, and performance skills.
- Use assessment effectively to inform teaching and support pupil progress.
- Contribute to extra-curricular activities and whole-school events.
- Collaborate with music teachers, class teachers, and senior leaders.
- Maintain and manage instruments and music technology.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Hold a bachelor's degree in Music, Primary Education, or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience teaching music in primary schools across EYFS and Key Stage 1 to 2.
- Strong instrumentalist with experience in whole class teaching.
- Ability to lead ensemble rehearsals and prepare pupils for performances.
- Secure knowledge of the English National Curriculum for Music.
- Confident use of assessment to support learning and progress.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Passionate about student well-being and pastoral care.
Preferred
- Experience working overseas or with international students.
- Experience staging productions and concerts in a school setting.
- Familiarity with music technology to enhance learning.
