The Opportunity:

As a Primary School Teaching Assistant, you will support students in reading, writing, maths, and English language development. You will work closely with teachers to provide one-to-one and small-group assistance, helping students reach their full potential in a nurturing and dynamic learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in individual, small-group, and whole-class settings across core subjects.
  • Assist in planning and delivering targeted interventions to help students achieve academic progress.
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure a consistent and effective learning experience.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to the teaching team.
  • Contribute to the creation of a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Assist with general classroom duties and administrative tasks as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy abilities.
  • Commitment to the development and welfare of young people.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative when required.
  • Experience working with children in a school or educational setting.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or supporting children with specific learning needs.
  • Familiarity with the National Curriculum and teaching methodologies.
  • Experience with English as an Additional Language (EAL) support.
  • Knowledge of global citizenship and humanities-based education.
