The Opportunity:
As a Primary School Teaching Assistant, you will support students in reading, writing, maths, and English language development. You will work closely with teachers to provide one-to-one and small-group assistance, helping students reach their full potential in a nurturing and dynamic learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in individual, small-group, and whole-class settings across core subjects.
- Assist in planning and delivering targeted interventions to help students achieve academic progress.
- Work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure a consistent and effective learning experience.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to the teaching team.
- Contribute to the creation of a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
- Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Assist with general classroom duties and administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Excellent literacy and numeracy abilities.
- Commitment to the development and welfare of young people.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative when required.
- Experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching or supporting children with specific learning needs.
- Familiarity with the National Curriculum and teaching methodologies.
- Experience with English as an Additional Language (EAL) support.
- Knowledge of global citizenship and humanities-based education.
