The Opportunity:

As a Sports Coach, you will deliver high-quality physical education and sport for children aged 3–11. You will help develop fundamental movement skills, confidence, and a lifelong love of physical activity. This role is integral to the school’s commitment to a balanced education, combining academic excellence with creative and physical development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons and curriculum sessions for pupils aged 3–11.
  • Plan and lead after-school sports clubs, ensuring safe and stimulating play opportunities.
  • Support the development of pupils’ physical, social, and emotional skills.
  • Work closely with the Head of Sports and teaching staff to evaluate and improve PE programs.
  • Contribute to school sports events and promote a positive, active lifestyle among students.
  • Ensure all activities are delivered in a safe and structured manner.
  • Encourage teamwork, confidence, and a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.
  • Maintain accurate records and report on student progress and engagement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience coaching or supporting children aged 3–11 in physical education and sport.
  • Confidence in delivering structured, engaging sessions across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
  • Strong communication and behaviour-management skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience with curriculum planning and session delivery in a school setting.
  • Knowledge of child development and physical education best practices.
  • Experience working in a school or educational environment.
  • Passion for promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
  • Previous involvement in school sports events or extracurricular activities.
