The Opportunity:
As a Sports Coach, you will deliver high-quality physical education and sport for children aged 3–11. You will help develop fundamental movement skills, confidence, and a lifelong love of physical activity. This role is integral to the school’s commitment to a balanced education, combining academic excellence with creative and physical development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons and curriculum sessions for pupils aged 3–11.
- Plan and lead after-school sports clubs, ensuring safe and stimulating play opportunities.
- Support the development of pupils’ physical, social, and emotional skills.
- Work closely with the Head of Sports and teaching staff to evaluate and improve PE programs.
- Contribute to school sports events and promote a positive, active lifestyle among students.
- Ensure all activities are delivered in a safe and structured manner.
- Encourage teamwork, confidence, and a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.
- Maintain accurate records and report on student progress and engagement.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience coaching or supporting children aged 3–11 in physical education and sport.
- Confidence in delivering structured, engaging sessions across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
- Strong communication and behaviour-management skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience with curriculum planning and session delivery in a school setting.
- Knowledge of child development and physical education best practices.
- Experience working in a school or educational environment.
- Passion for promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
- Previous involvement in school sports events or extracurricular activities.
