As a Primary SENDCO or Trainee SENDCO, you will play a central role in shaping inclusive educational practices and supporting the diverse needs of students. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective SEND policies and procedures aligned with the school’s vision and values.
- Provide expert guidance and support to staff, students, and parents on SEND-related matters.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of students with special educational needs and ensure appropriate interventions are in place.
- Collaborate with external agencies and professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
- Deliver training and professional development sessions for staff on inclusive teaching practices.
- Maintain accurate records and reports in line with statutory requirements.
- Work closely with senior leadership to ensure SEND is integrated into the school’s overall strategy.
- Promote a culture of inclusion and ensure that all students have equal access to learning opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in special educational needs and disabilities.
- Commitment to inclusive education and student well-being.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and manage SEND provision effectively.
- Experience in developing and implementing SEND policies.
Preferred
- Holding or working towards the NPQSENDCO qualification.
- Experience in a high-performing educational institution.
- Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
- Passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
