The Opportunity:

As a Primary SENDCO or Trainee SENDCO, you will play a central role in shaping inclusive educational practices and supporting the diverse needs of students. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective SEND policies and procedures aligned with the school’s vision and values.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to staff, students, and parents on SEND-related matters.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of students with special educational needs and ensure appropriate interventions are in place.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
  • Deliver training and professional development sessions for staff on inclusive teaching practices.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in line with statutory requirements.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to ensure SEND is integrated into the school’s overall strategy.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion and ensure that all students have equal access to learning opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student well-being.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and manage SEND provision effectively.
  • Experience in developing and implementing SEND policies.

Preferred

  • Holding or working towards the NPQSENDCO qualification.
  • Experience in a high-performing educational institution.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
  • Passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
