The Opportunity:

As a Programme Leader in Teacher Education, you will play a key role in shaping the Initial Teacher Education Programme for Further Education. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and deliver high-quality teacher training, while supporting the development of learning and teaching across the institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support the recruitment process for Initial Teacher Education courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Collaborate with the Curriculum Manager and Head of Learning and Professional Development to deliver the Initial Teacher Education Programme.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of learning and teaching across the institution.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends in Higher Education and Initial Teacher Education sectors.
  • Ensure the programme aligns with national standards and the strategic goals of the institution.
  • Support the success and progression of learners through high-quality teacher training.
  • Work with partner universities and training providers to enhance the curriculum and delivery of teacher education.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant higher degree and a teaching qualification such as a PGCE.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of emerging trends in Higher Education and Initial Teacher Education.
  • Experience in managing and delivering teacher education programmes.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to the success and development of learners.

Preferred

  • Experience in working with partner universities and training institutions.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and innovation in education.
  • Experience with supporting learners in Further Education settings.
