The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Media Studies Teacher to join a dynamic department. This role offers the chance to inspire students and contribute to a department with a proven track record of academic success. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality Media Studies education at both GCSE and A Level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and innovative lessons that challenge and inspire students.
- Prepare and assess coursework and examinations in line with curriculum requirements.
- Support students in developing critical thinking, analytical skills, and a lifelong appreciation of media.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and high-quality learning experience.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback and support.
- Contribute to the development and review of departmental schemes of work and resources.
- Participate in extracurricular activities and events related to Media Studies.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and tolerance.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable.
- Proven experience teaching Media Studies at GCSE and A Level.
- Strong subject knowledge in Media Studies.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and take on a collaborative role within a small department.
Preferred
- Experience with developing and delivering cross-curricular projects.
- Experience with using digital tools and resources in teaching.
- Experience with supporting students in their personal and academic development.
- Experience with extracurricular or enrichment activities in Media Studies.
