The Opportunity:

As an Artist in Residence, you will play a vital role in supporting students in their artistic development and helping to enhance the school's commitment to the arts. You will contribute to the school's creative curriculum through studio work, critiques, and enrichment activities, while also engaging with a network of Artsmark schools in Redbridge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality Fine Art lessons and workshops up to A-Level.
  • Support students in expanding their artistic knowledge and practice through studio work and critique.
  • Collaborate with creative practitioners and local schools to enhance the arts curriculum.
  • Manage and maintain the Art Suite, including studios, gallery space, and outdoor installations.
  • Promote the value of the arts and inspire students to pursue creative careers.
  • Participate in enrichment activities and events that celebrate student work and artistic excellence.
  • Share best practice and contribute to the development of the arts curriculum.
  • Work closely with the school’s arts department to ensure a cohesive and impactful arts programme.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong postgraduate qualifications in Fine Art or a related field.
  • Demonstrated passion and commitment to the arts and teaching.
  • Ability to teach Fine Art up to A-Level.
  • Experience in studio practice and artistic development.

Preferred

  • Experience in working with young people in an educational setting.
  • Experience with arts enrichment and outreach activities.
  • Knowledge of Artsmark and its principles.
  • Experience in collaborative projects with creative practitioners or local schools.
