The Opportunity:

As an EYFS Learning Assistant, you will support young learners in creating a joyful and purposeful start to school life. You will work closely with class teachers to deliver high-quality early years education, helping children aged 3–5 develop confidence, independence, and essential academic skills. This role is ideal for someone passionate about early childhood development and committed to upholding a strong set of values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support high-quality teaching and learning across the EYFS, helping children aged 3–5 develop confidence, independence, and early academic skills.
  • Contribute to a calm, engaging, and well-organised classroom environment.
  • Assist with observations, assessments, and daily routines, transitions, playtimes, and enrichment activities.
  • Support school events, after-school clubs, and the wider life of the school.
  • Uphold the school’s core values, ensuring every child feels safe, happy, and supported.
  • Engage in EYFS training, including paediatric first aid.
  • Build positive relationships with children, colleagues, and parents.
  • Promote a culture of respect, opportunity, curiosity, courage, and kindness.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 2 or Level 3 childcare or early years qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience supporting learning in a classroom setting.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, colleagues, and parents.
  • Commitment to safeguarding.
  • Willingness to engage in EYFS training, including paediatric first aid.

Preferred

  • Experience in early literacy, numeracy, outdoor learning, or EYFS-based clubs.
  • Interest in co-curricular activities and school events.
