The Opportunity:
As an EYFS Learning Assistant, you will support young learners in creating a joyful and purposeful start to school life. You will work closely with class teachers to deliver high-quality early years education, helping children aged 3–5 develop confidence, independence, and essential academic skills. This role is ideal for someone passionate about early childhood development and committed to upholding a strong set of values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support high-quality teaching and learning across the EYFS, helping children aged 3–5 develop confidence, independence, and early academic skills.
- Contribute to a calm, engaging, and well-organised classroom environment.
- Assist with observations, assessments, and daily routines, transitions, playtimes, and enrichment activities.
- Support school events, after-school clubs, and the wider life of the school.
- Uphold the school’s core values, ensuring every child feels safe, happy, and supported.
- Engage in EYFS training, including paediatric first aid.
- Build positive relationships with children, colleagues, and parents.
- Promote a culture of respect, opportunity, curiosity, courage, and kindness.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Level 2 or Level 3 childcare or early years qualification (or equivalent experience).
- Experience supporting learning in a classroom setting.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, colleagues, and parents.
- Commitment to safeguarding.
- Willingness to engage in EYFS training, including paediatric first aid.
Preferred
- Experience in early literacy, numeracy, outdoor learning, or EYFS-based clubs.
- Interest in co-curricular activities and school events.
