The Opportunity:

As a Reception Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and learning of young children in the early years. You will work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging and age-appropriate activities aligned with the EYFS framework. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate learning activities.
  • Assist with the management of daily routines and pastoral care for Reception pupils.
  • Help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment for young children.
  • Monitor and support children’s progress across the EYFS framework and Development Matters.
  • Collaborate with teachers and colleagues to ensure a consistent and supportive approach to learning.
  • Encourage and support children’s social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Participate in planning and preparing resources for lessons and activities.
  • Provide feedback to the class teacher on children’s progress and behavior.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A full and relevant Level 3 qualification.
  • A strong understanding of the EYFS framework and Development Matters.
  • Experience working with young children in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive, caring, and enthusiastic attitude towards teaching and learning.

Preferred

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
  • Experience in a school or early years setting.
  • Familiarity with inclusive and child-centered teaching practices.
