The Opportunity:
As a Reception Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and learning of young children in the early years. You will work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging and age-appropriate activities aligned with the EYFS framework. Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate learning activities.
- Assist with the management of daily routines and pastoral care for Reception pupils.
- Help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment for young children.
- Monitor and support children’s progress across the EYFS framework and Development Matters.
- Collaborate with teachers and colleagues to ensure a consistent and supportive approach to learning.
- Encourage and support children’s social, emotional, and academic development.
- Participate in planning and preparing resources for lessons and activities.
- Provide feedback to the class teacher on children’s progress and behavior.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A full and relevant Level 3 qualification.
- A strong understanding of the EYFS framework and Development Matters.
- Experience working with young children in an educational setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, caring, and enthusiastic attitude towards teaching and learning.
Preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
- Experience in a school or early years setting.
- Familiarity with inclusive and child-centered teaching practices.
