Summary:

Teaching Assistant Years 3 & 4 – Support pupils and assist teachers in a vibrant and inclusive school environment.

The Opportunity:

As a Teaching Assistant Years 3 & 4, you will support teachers in delivering high-quality education and help create a positive, inclusive learning environment. You will work closely with pupils, assisting in both academic and pastoral development, and contribute to the school’s evolving co-educational culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers with lesson preparation and delivery, including creating engaging resources and displays.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils, helping them achieve their full potential.
  • Supervise pupils during break and lunchtimes, as well as on educational visits.
  • Support the development of a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Fulfil administrative tasks such as organizing materials and maintaining classroom resources.
  • Contribute to the school’s pastoral care and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Assist in the smooth running of the school’s daily operations and events.
  • Support the integration of new pupils and the development of a co-educational culture.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to support a variety of tasks and responsibilities.

Preferred

  • Experience in a co-educational setting.
  • Previous experience as a teaching assistant or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum and best practices in education.
  • Experience with pastoral care and supporting pupil wellbeing.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
