Relief Assistant Houseparent required for term-time part-time role. Support boarding house team in a girls’ school.

The Opportunity:
A Relief Assistant Houseparent is needed to support the boarding house team in a girls’ boarding house for pupils in Years 5–10. The role is vital in ensuring the well-being and safety of students, while contributing to a welcoming and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the day-to-day care and supervision of pupils in a girls’ boarding house.
- Support the smooth running of the house and ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all students.
- Provide pastoral support to students, offering guidance and encouragement when needed.
- Collaborate with other members of the boarding house team to maintain high standards of care.
- Ensure that house routines and procedures are followed consistently.
- Assist with house events and activities that promote a positive and inclusive community.
- Maintain open communication with parents and other staff members as required.
- Support the implementation of the school’s safeguarding and welfare policies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A caring and approachable nature with strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience in a residential or pastoral care setting, ideally within an educational environment.
- The ability to work flexibly and independently within a team.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Previous experience working with young people in a boarding or residential setting.
- Experience in a school or educational environment.
- Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
- Experience with pastoral care and student support.
