The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Religious Studies Teacher to join a dynamic and innovative department. This role involves teaching across KS3 and KS4, supporting the launch of Religious Studies as a compulsory GCSE subject, and delivering outstanding outcomes for students. The successful candidate will be a passionate and committed educator, ready to make a real impact in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Religious Studies across Key Stages 3 and 4 to students of all abilities.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that engage and inspire students.
  • Support the successful implementation of Religious Studies as a full-cohort GCSE subject.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and deliver a strong curriculum.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and participate in extracurricular activities.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and support the growth of the department.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, colleagues, and the wider school community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant experience of teaching Religious Studies in a secondary school.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire young people.
  • Commitment to personal and professional development.
  • Ability to deliver effective and engaging lessons across a range of abilities.

Preferred

  • Experience with GCSE-level Religious Studies curriculum.
  • Experience in developing and leading curriculum initiatives.
  • Experience with online learning platforms and digital teaching tools.
  • Experience in a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
