The Opportunity:
Join a school where Religious Studies is taught with depth and purpose, shaping students' understanding of the beliefs and philosophies that define the Western world. This role offers the chance to teach both lower and upper school, with the flexibility to focus on A-Level or Year 7 to Year 13.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality lessons that explore the beliefs, practices, and philosophy of major world religions.
- Build strong, positive relationships with students through regular and meaningful classroom interactions.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that reflects the cultural and theological significance of religious traditions.
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, discussion, and intellectual curiosity.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support the school’s mission of transforming student lives through education.
- Participate in school events and contribute to a vibrant, supportive staff culture.
- Support students in achieving excellent academic outcomes, including high GCSE and A-Level results.
- Engage with the wider school community and promote the values of compassion, kindness, and self-discipline.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy, or a related field.
- Experience in teaching or a willingness to train and obtain QTS.
- Commitment to the school’s ethos of high standards, self-discipline, and academic excellence.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
Preferred
- Experience teaching Religious Studies at GCSE or A-Level.
- Familiarity with the Abrahamic faiths and major world religions.
- Experience working in a school with a strong academic and behavioural focus.
- Passion for education and a desire to make a meaningful impact on students' lives.
