The Opportunity:

As a Safeguarding Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students. You will lead safeguarding initiatives, support staff, and work closely with families and external agencies to create a secure and supportive learning environment. This role is essential in promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate safeguarding and child protection initiatives across the school.
  • Support the Assistant Principal and Principal in implementing safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, providing expert guidance and support to staff.
  • Work in partnership with parents, carers, and multi-agencies to ensure the wellbeing of students.
  • Provide direct support to students and families to overcome barriers to learning and achievement.
  • Monitor and evaluate safeguarding practices to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Deliver training and professional development to staff on safeguarding and child protection matters.
  • Maintain accurate records and report safeguarding concerns in line with statutory requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in safeguarding and child protection, ideally as a Designated Safeguarding Lead.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practice.
  • Experience of working with children, young people, and their families.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with multi-agencies and parents/carers.
  • Commitment to the school’s ethos and values.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Experience with multi-agency working and partnership development.
  • Experience in training and supporting staff on safeguarding matters.
  • Knowledge of character education and student wellbeing initiatives.
