The Opportunity:
As a Safeguarding Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students. You will lead safeguarding initiatives, support staff, and work closely with families and external agencies to create a secure and supportive learning environment. This role is essential in promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate safeguarding and child protection initiatives across the school.
- Support the Assistant Principal and Principal in implementing safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, providing expert guidance and support to staff.
- Work in partnership with parents, carers, and multi-agencies to ensure the wellbeing of students.
- Provide direct support to students and families to overcome barriers to learning and achievement.
- Monitor and evaluate safeguarding practices to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Deliver training and professional development to staff on safeguarding and child protection matters.
- Maintain accurate records and report safeguarding concerns in line with statutory requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in safeguarding and child protection, ideally as a Designated Safeguarding Lead.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practice.
- Experience of working with children, young people, and their families.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with multi-agencies and parents/carers.
- Commitment to the school’s ethos and values.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Experience with multi-agency working and partnership development.
- Experience in training and supporting staff on safeguarding matters.
- Knowledge of character education and student wellbeing initiatives.
